The South Australia town of Millicent, close to Lake Bonney, is located almost 400 kilometres south-east of the state capital Adelaide and 50 kilometres north of Mount Gambier. The township developed in 1870 on an area known as the Millecent Flats and today has a population of just over 5,000. Although the town does not have its own racecourse, it does have a thriving Racing Club which organises one meeting annually which is staged on Penola Racecourse. |
